Data Security
Within an office there are two major areas of threat to the Trustee's data: physical and employee maliciousness or dishonesty. The combination of Progress Software, TAS/13 and third party software provides solutions for each of these areas.
TAS/13 provides an audit trail of all changes to the database. This audit trail is a permanent record in the database. This history can be searched by case, by user id and by date. It is useful for security and employee training. The system provides a daily edit program that performs an edit check of all the cases, searching for untoward data, cross footing individual case totals as well as those for the entire caseload. A report is generated daily that identifies issues that need attention.
On the Unix system there is a third party product Tripwire that generates periodic reports of events on the system that may represent security threats. Reports include information about logins, files added to the systems, when users attempt to switch from one user to another, deletions and changes in authority.
